Startup Sri Lanka, an initiative by SLASSCOM (Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies) has a simple objective. That is to help startups become more successful. In order to do so, they would identify promising startups and guide them in connecting with mentors who would help them reach their goals. They would organize a bootcamp or and workshop where industry experts would come together to share their experience.
This lead to Disrupt 2.0, a bi-monthly bootcamp workshop for startups. These bootcamp workshops would cover various topics such as growth hacking etc.
The latest iteration of the boot camp covers another important topic. UX, or User Experience is a topic that most people tend to ignore. Nonetheless it is a vital area to get right if you want your product to have a successful life cycle.
The workshop is ideal for startup founders who want to design winning products. As such those taking part in the works whop will learn about the frameworks for design thinking. In addition, volunteer startups will explain their product and UX to receive feedback from the facilitators and their peers. Furthermore, facilitators would analyze selected startup products in order to provide feedback and guidance on improvements, potential changes and also assist the startups in and problems that they are facing.
At the end of the day, a review of common lessons learnt will be followed by a Q&A session on other design ideas and resources.
Speaking of facilitators, the event will be conducted by Lee Bazalgette, Director at Colombo Design Studio and Hiraash Thawfeek, Co-founder and CTO at Creatley.
