The Asia Pacific InfoComm Technology Alliance, more commonly referred to as APICTA is an alliance of national ICT organizations representing their respective economy to build & enhance a cooperative network to promote ICT, enhance innovations, capability & adoption, & encourage the development of indigenous ICT solutions.
Founded in the year 2000, the APICTA Awards is an annual event is held in a different country each year and this year, Sri Lanka was the proud recipient of this honor. APICTA Awards 2015 was week long event that was a combination of a Business Forum and a Student Knowledge Sharing Forum. The Business Forum consisted of a Panel Discussion on topics such as business development, One-to-One Business Matching services and economy focused mini-breakfast meetings etc. in order to create a common platform for potential investors, business partners, traders and the business community to explore possible business partnerships and investments, explore import and export opportunities.
The Student Knowledge Sharing Forum revolved around showcasing the innovative tertiary & Secondary student products to potential investors and partners whilst providing a platform for the students to network with each other.
As the APICTA Awards coincided with Sri Lanka’s largest ICT exposition, INFOTEL 2015, the Government of Sri Lanka also made it a point to declare 16-22 November 2015 as “The National ICT Week of Sri Lanka”.
