Last year we saw CIMA Launch Pad 2015 take flight to nurture the entrepreneurial thinking among students from Local and Private Universities, CIMA Institutes, Corporate firms, Individuals and Volunteer Organizations.
Promising bigger and better opportunities for the business startup community in Sri Lanka, CIMA Launch Pad 2016 is back. This time, in the form of a well-structured incubation model has been recognized as a pivotal platform for young budding entrepreneurs to meet fruition and expedite the stages between ideation and execution of their business start-up while encompassing the necessary skills, confidence, understanding and partnerships along the way.
In addition, CIMA Launch Pad 2016 has also renewed the partnerships with MAS, PWC, SLASSCOM for the second consecutive year. Startup Sri Lanka is a new addition to the partnership this year. As for the Print Media partners, it will be Wijeya Newspapers, while the Radio Partner and Digital Media Partner for the event are Fox FM and Readme respectively.
This year, things will be a little different in order to improve the experience of budding entrepreneurs and provide them with key success factors and perspectives. These will help them position themselves better for the first round of seed funding. As such:
CIMA Launch Pad aspires to transform the perception of startup entrepreneurs from the sentiment which denotes the fact that ‘we need any investor with money’ to ‘we need a strategic investor with synergies’ The winning team has amazing opportunities that would boost their business startup along with start-up bundles provided by our global brands that will help take them further into their journey to become the next big disruption in Sri Lanka.
The Call for applications has already begun as of the 1st of September 2016 and will continue till the 1st of October 2016. From there the Shortlisted applicants will be announced on the 3rd of October. The grand final will be on the 27th of November.
