The Internet is a portal of enormous opportunity. How a country exploits this opportunity to facilitate innovation and economic growth will ultimately determine the level of prosperity of its people. The SLASSCOM CXO Breakfast Briefing on “Impact of policies concerning the internet on innovation and economic growth” featuring a keynote address by Ann Lavin – Director, Policy and Government Affairs, Greater China and Asian Growth Markets, Google, seeks to learn from the successes and failures of the implementation of policies concerning the internet around the region, and its impact on innovation and economic growth of those countries.

 

This will be followed by a panel discussion with eminent panelists including:

Director, Policy and Government Affairs, Greater China and Asian Growth Markets, Google. 

As Google’s Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs for Greater China and Southeast Asia, Ann Lavin focuses works to focus on a range of issues including economic empowerment, content regulation, geopolitics, privacy and general technology policy. She has spent over a decade living or working in Asia. Before joining Google, Lavin was a Senior Advisor with McLarty Associates, a US-based strategic advisory firm and Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the principal US business organization in Southeast Asia.
