The Entrepreneurs Organization’s Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is back in Sri Lanka for a second consecutive year. Once again it’s calling in all undergraduate students to think out loud. If you are an entrepreneur running your own business, while reading your Bachelor’s degree, then you should consider applying for it. Then this is the chance to tell the world what you do.
In case you’re lost, GSEA is a student entrepreneurship competition. Taking part in GSEA is like akin to a global network of entrepreneurs. The key objective of GSEA is to support students who are in seek of “mentorship, recognition, and connections” to take their business forward. While you will be awarded for your efforts, you will most definitely be connected and acknowledged by thousands of entrepreneurs from around the world.
Despite GSEA being an annual event, you are most likely to be running a business while being in your final year only once in your life. So how does one take part in the competition? Well, the application criteria is simple yet challenging at the same time.
There are only 2 requirements in this criteria. The first is that you have to an undergraduate student at a recognized university. The second is that you have to be running a business that’s been making a profit for 6 months prior to your application. These may sound like tough requirements and they are. But the organizers keep these requirements in place as they wish to support real entrepreneurs that have actually built businesses.
The GSEA competition first hosts a local qualifier that will filter the best entries. If you’re among the winner who wins the national qualifier then pack your backs. You will be brought forward to represent yourself, your business, and your country at the GSEA finals. This final round, which will see student entrepreneurs from across the globe will be held in Frankfurt, Germany.
The local Semi Finals will be held on February 18th 2017 at H One Private Limited, Thimbirigasyaya. The winners here will proceed onto the National Finals, which will take place on March 9th. Afterward, the national winner will have time till end of April to prepare and compete against contestants from around the world in the grand finals.
Are you eligible? Then wait no longer and visit the official website here to get started. Bring your business forward. Make its name shine among the rest of the world. Best of luck!
