“Get nAiled” organized by Sri Lankan gaming clan Noob Alliance is an annual LAN competition that brings together gamers from all over Sri Lanka to compete in ranked matches to see who the best team/clan in Sri Lanka is. In an effort to bring the local competitive gaming standard to that of an international level, Hutch will be the main title sponsor of “GetnAiled”2015. Held for its 2nd consecutive year, “Get nAiled” is hosted by the gaming clan “n00b Alliance”, the first Call of Duty 4 clan in Sri Lanka with strategic partner Gamer.LK. The event will be held on the 11th and 12th of July 2015 in the Lobby area at Liberty Plaza Colombo 03.
2014 saw Hutch’s “GetnAiled” held at Majestic City Colombo 04 with a participation of more than 500 individuals and over 50 teams. The tournament featured popular titles such as Call of Duty 4, DOTA 2 and several other multiplayer titles.
This year the event is targeted to be bigger and better with over 70 teams expected to take part in this event. In addition to this, Hutch will also organize a mini-tournament for the public who come to witness the gaming tournament. The mini tournament at the “Hutch Experience Zone” is aimed at the rookie gamers and would moreover provide an experience of online multi-player gaming and an opportunity to win valuable give-aways and a grand prize for the overall best performer.
CEO of Hutch, Thirukumar Nadarasa explained that as they are a brand constantly engaging with a data consuming audience, they feel responsible to partner, also be actively involved with GetnAiled. With the availability of broadband data, Sri Lanka’s E-sports industry is undergoing a paradigm shift within the past couple of years, and he feels that Hutch, in collaboration with the event, will further enable the gaming community to reach greater heights not just locally, but also to make a mark in the global E-sporting arena.
In addition to this, Hutch Sri Lanka will be sponsoring two gaming clans in Sri Lanka namely Xiphos eSports and nOOb alliance, who are the defending champions. These two teams are regarded as two of the foremost gaming clans within the gaming community locally.
Sharing his thoughts about the initiative Vikum Jayasekera – Organizer of GetnAiled opined, “We are encouraged by the partnership and the active commitment of Hutch Sri Lanka, who has obliged to empower the local gaming community through not only funding, but also granting network solutions, data use and supporting us to make this event a grand success”. He further noted that gamers have formed competitive leagues and today’s computer and console gaming is considered a professional sport in many countries.
