Embark as we all know, has been transforming the lives of street dogs and the communities they live in since 2007. The opportunity to reach out and make a difference with its multifaceted approach to animal welfare, is the driving force behind Embark’s dedicated team. Focused not only on rescues or adoptions but also sterilizations, vaccinations, education and campaigning for improved policy with regard to animals islandwide, the Embark team takes the welfare of street dogs in Sri Lanka forward against the odds.
Uber, the taxi hailing app that connects riders to drivers seamlessly has been opening up more possibilities for riders and more business for drivers since their initial founding in 2009. Uber’s rapidly expanding global presence continues to bring people and their cities closer. Today Uber is available in over 400 cities across 72 countries. The service is available in 27 Indian cities — more than any other country outside the United States and China
This Friday, to mark International Homeless Animals Day, Uber and Embark are bringing UberPUPPIES to your doorstep in Colombo.
Yes that’s right, on the 19th of August (Friday), simply open your Uber app between 09:30am and 11:30am, slide to UberPUPPIES to get your share of puppy lovin’ cuddles delivered to you for 15 minutes, at the push of a button.In addition, Riders can also speak to representatives from Embark and Uber who will be present at the location, in case they’d like to get more details about the process involved in adopting puppies.
Bhavik Rathod, Uber’s Regional General Manager, Indian Subcontinent, said, “Uber is all about giving riders an amazing experience, be it through chopper rides to yachts or even delivering food in some cities. We’re thrilled to bring UberPUPPIES to Colombo and through our association with Embark, we are eager to spread awareness about adopting puppies and hope many of them find a home through this on-demand.”
