If you’re one to own a smartwatch, then chances are that you face what other smartwatch owners face: you forget to charge your watch. There are pros and cons to using a smartwatch. For example, while it has a lot more functionality when compared to a regular watch such as taking phone calls and even being a personal assistant, it also has considerably less battery life when compared to a traditional watch.
Well, what if your smartwatch had 30 days of battery life on a single charge? Well, that’s what the Amazfit Bip is for. Apart from the tongue twisting name, the Bip is developed by Huami, which is a Chinese wearable technology company. If you’re not familiar with the company, Huami is a sub-brand of Xiaomi. The Bip joins three other Huami smart wearables available in North America, including the Pace, becoming Huami’s global “does it all” device.
What does the Amazfit Bip offer?
Well, it essentially offers what any smartwatch would offer. It has sports, GPS tracking and sleep tracking. It also has a heart rate monitor and shows notifications for incoming calls, messages and other apps as well. Resembling an Apple Watch, the Amazfit Bip even includes a small dial on the right side of the watch face.
Packing a 1.28 Inch always-on display, the Amazfit Bip has a full color display that is protected by Gorlilla Glass 3. If you don’t like the included watch strap, you can swap it out for any other 20 mm standard-width band. If that’s not all, the Amazfit Bipand it has an IP68 rating. This means that you can use it underwater for 30 minutes at a maximum depth of around 1.5 meters or 5 feet.
30 days of battery life, really?
Capping it all, the Amazfit Bip also has a battery life of more than 30 days on a single charge. Given the amount of features that the watch has, this is indeed the device’s bestselling feature. Speaking of selling, you’re probably wondering how much the Amazfit Bip would cost. Well, the Amazfit Bip would cost around $99.
It works seamlessly with Android devices and comes in four colors as well. Onyx Black, Cinnabar Red, White Cloud, and Kokoda Green. Although, all colors apart from Onyx Black are limited to pre-order status for now. Shipping of the Amazfit Bip would be hopefully from March 2018.
