Applications for EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Are Open

Do you have what it takes to be the next startup sensation gripping the nation? Well, this will probably interest you. If you’re not the startup type of person, well, give this a read and see if your mind can’t be changed.
For the first time in Sri Lanka, The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) together with Spiralation, Startup Sri Lanka, AIESEC, Global Tutor and Tellida present to you the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, a premier awards program for students who are currently involved in a bachelor’s degree whilst also running a business. If you are an entrepreneur who has been running a business for 6 months or more and is currently reading for their bachelor’s degree, you too can apply for this awards program. This is all thanks to Mohammed Fawaz, a former GSEA participant whis is the the ambassador responsible for implementing this program in Sri Lanka.
Just let that all sink in. You, yes you, the one holding a mug of coffee whilst reading this. You could be a part of the next generation of entrepreneurs.
The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards or GSEA is by far the only student entrepreneurship competition that gives access to a worldwide network of over 11000 successfully entrepreneurs. Think of it as a catalyst to inspire students and fresh entrepreneurs to start, grow and make their entrepreneurial ventures take off.

So what does one need to apply for this? Well, all you need it to be enrolled in an undergraduate programme at a recognized college or university. You also need to own a for-profit business that has been operational for a minimum of consecutive 6 months and be responsible for the operation of the company at the time of submitting your application.
If any local universities need briefing they can contact GSEA to come and do a session at their premises.

The deadline for all applications is on the 31st of January 2016. Briefings will be conducted in two sessions, one commencing on the 8th of February 2016 and the other on the 11th of February 2016.
The final judging will take place on the 18th of February 2016.
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to do a presentation to a judging panel who will select the winner of the Sri Lankan competition who will then compete with the winners from 50+ countries in the GSEA Global Finals in Bangkok, Thailand later this year.
