The Spiralation Tech Startup Support Program by the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka provides various types of support for technology entrepreneurs and early stage technology related companies for developing their start-ups. The aim of Spiralation is to promote, encourage and support technology related entrepreneurship and innovation within Sri Lanka.

The program includes but is not limited to seed funding, training sessions, networking sessions, business promotion opportunities (both locally and internationally), encouragement programs, hackathons, etc.

The seed funding support program under this initiative was started in the year 2010 and as of 2016, more than 30 startups have been funded through this program. Several of these startups have also gone international and have collectively added over 200 jobs in the industry.

Now for the good news. If you are new entrepreneurs who have a great idea for a new technology business and are looking for funding to kick start said idea or, entrepreneurs who already have a technology business running for less than 2 years and with less than 10 employees, you too can apply for this fund.

A maximum of LKR 750,000.00 is available as a grant per startup. That is indeed quite a sum for you to get things going. It should be noted though that startups who have been previously funded through this program will be given less priority. This is in order to support new startups.

The applications for the 4th round of the Seed Funding Support program under this initiative are now open. If you wish to apply for this funding or get more information, just click here.

Deadline for applications will be 11.59pm on the 25th of March 2016.

Good luck to all those applying. May the odds be ever in your favor.
