Sri Lankan Facebook users have been complaining that images aren’t loading properly on Facebook, which a bit of a monkey wrench into the works. After all, how else would we get our daily dose of 9GAG and IFLS reposts and selfies?
We’re not entirely certain of what’s happening, but it seems to have something to do with the DNS servers we connect to. Those who;ve made the switch to Google’s public DNS servers seem to have no issues in getting online. Head over here for the official Google instructions on how to make the switch. It’s not very complicated – just a bit of mucking about in Control Panel.
If you’re doing this on an SLT line, notice that changing the DNS will allow you to access officially blocked sites like the Colombo Telegraph and, er, others. You’re welcome.
