It’s halfway through February and you know what that means, right? It’s time to highlight some interesting gadgets that you can splurge your salary on. The criteria are simple. All gadgets listed here fall under a certain price category and are generally available in stock at the time of this article being published.
For February, we’ve decided to up the ante a bit and increase the price limit to LKR 15,000/-. This means that we have a bit more room to play around with to find some gadgets that are totally worth it. So Without further ado, here are our top 5 fantastic gadgets for February 2018 and where to find them.
The A10 wireless speaker is a Bluetooth speaker that measures around 2.7 inches by 1.7 inches. It packs 2 3W speakers and is composed of an aluminum alloy body. With a Bluetooth range of up to around 10 meters, the A10 wireless speaker is powered by a 3.7v 400mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery. The speaker also has 3 blue LEDs at the bottom that give off a pretty cool aura effect especially in a dark environment.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is the successor to the Xiaomi Mi Band. This is an all-in-one heart rate wristband. It packs a 0.42” OLED display that can show you the time, steps walked your current heart rate and also functions as a sleep tracker.
It will also vibrate when you get a call or a message. It’s also IP67 certified so you can wear it in the shower or when you’re sweating during a heavy workout session.
The Remax RBS6 packs an interesting design. First off, it’s a pair of Bluetooth earphones that is packaged in a neckband. This means that the package is easier to manage because it can stay around your neck. The Remax RB-S6 packs a 160mAh rechargeable battery and has an estimated playback time of 7 hours and a charge time of 2 hours.
For added functionality, to ensure that the earpieces don’t get caught in anything, it actually locks on to the neckband itself. The inbuilt microphone also makes answering calls a breeze.
Marshall is relatively unknown and unheard of in Sri Lanka despite the following it has internationally. The Marshall Major II takes all that Marshall fans loved about its predecessor and adds a bit more to it. You get a more reinforced body along with improved ergonomics and an updated sound profile as well. Featuring a detachable cable with a built-in microphone, the Marshall Major II packs a 3.5mm audio port on either side of the earpieces.
This allows for you to choose which side you want the cable to be on. It also means that you can plug in a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio extension cable and connect it to another device and share your music with a friend or loved one making it a very viable gadget choice if you’ve not yet gotten a valentine’s day gift.
The Huawei Y3 updates its current set of specifications for its 2017 model. It packs a 5.0” display, an Octa-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of Internal storage. The Huawei Y7 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, has dual-SIM capabilities, and supports additional storage of up to 128GB via the MicroSD slot.
In terms of battery, the Huawei Y7 (2017) has a non-removable 2200 mAh battery and charges via the micro USB port. Packing an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash that also doubles as a torch, the Huawei Y7 (2017) also incorporates a 2MP camera in the front
