Wearable electronics such as smartwatches are pretty much the trend with geeks and technology enthusiasts the world over. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry seems to own one these days. The Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment manufacturer Huawei, has finally decided to enter the smartwatch scene with a motive to create a unisex watch that deliver the classic feel of a real watch rather than of a hi-tech gadget.
This is the first smartwatch in the Huawei wearable family. Inspired by Swiss timepieces, the body is made out of cold-forged stainless steel with sapphire glass protection on the full circular 42mm face. It features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels at 286 pixels per inch. Given these specifications makes the Huawei Watch to be the highest resolution smartwatch produced to date.
Huawei Watch runs Google’s Android Wear operating system just as same as its competitors; the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R. So the functionalities you could get would be same as theirs’. This includes typical features like Google Now voice commands, notifications for text messages and emails and answering calls. And now, thanks to the latest version of Google’s Android Wear™, both Android and iOS users will be able to connect to the Huawei Watch.
The watch packs in a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It gets the life by a 300mAh battery which Huawei states that could hold up for 1.5 days and could recharge back to 80% in just 45 minutes.
“Just 5 years ago I was using a desktop PC with the same specs as that watch.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.”
A YouTube user sharing his comments on a popular gadget review site. It is true isn’t it?
The most important thing other than being smart is its style. The case comes in three variations; stainless steel, black plated stainless steel and rose gold-plated stainless steel. Huawei knows that everyone has a different taste so they give the chance for you to choose the straps from stainless steel mesh, stainless steel link bracelet or the classy genuine leather strap.
The Huawei Watch will go on sale in Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Italy this month priced between $450.00 and $780.00 depending on the design features chosen. It will also be available for pre-order in the US and will go on sale in the UK, Japan and UAE in October and information on further regions will be released later this year.
