I must admit, I am a huge fan of RC (remote controlled) vehicles. I own a RC helicopter and a few RC cars as well. So imagine my pleasant surprise when I came across a game called Re-Volt 3. As the name suggests, it is the 3rd game in the Re-Volt series.
Developed by WeGo Interactive, the latest free-to-play addition to the series was launched today for Android devices via the Google Play Store.
As a racer stepping into the world of Re-Volt 3, you get access to over 50 RC cars. These include regular racing vehicles, buggies and monster trucks. Furthermore, players can also customize the look of their RC cars via numerous methods. These include paint colors and skins. But the modifications in Re-Volt 3 aren’t just skin deep. You can also upgrade certain parts of your RC vehicle to get more performance.
According to WeGo Interactive, Re-Volt 3 has undergone severe changes compared to its predecessors. An improvement in the game’s controls coupled with more realistic looking graphics means you’ll be playing Re-Volt 3 for hours.
The initial download is around 50MB and from there, another 200MB of game files is downloaded from within the app itself. Once all that is done, you are asked to login to either Facebook or as WeGo account in order to create your own avatar and profile. Once this is done, you are thrown into your first race. Apart from being an actual race, it also gives you the basic controls of the car and teaches you tactics such as drifting and now to use boost to make your RC vehicle go faster.
The included single player storyline mode has around 100 stages to complete. Race well, and you will be rewarded for completing achievements thus increasing your rankings. If you want to challenge other Re-volt3 players, you can do so by taking the race online in a multiplayer mode. This allows you to compete with other Re-Volt3 players from around the world in a variety of game modes.
Having played the game for about 30 minutes, I must say that I am indeed a fan of the game. The graphics are smooth and the gameplay is actually quite fun. The music tends to be a tad repetitive after a while but apart from that, I have no major complaints.
If you are an RC vehicle fan or if you have previously played the first two Re-Volt games, go ahead and give Re-Volt3 a shot by downloading it from the Google Play Store.
