Leave your office chair aside and represent your company in what you do best on July 15th & 16th at Trace – Expert City from 9AM onwards.
The Mercantile eSports Championship 2017 is a one-of-a-kind event that is happening for the second consecutive year. While the first championship was only open to the IT sector, this year’s edition is open to all Corporate employees working in Sri Lanka. In a series of team and individual games, corporates are exposed to battle it out to win the overall Mercantile championship.
This year’s roster of games are as follows:
- Call of Duty 4
- DOTA 2
- League of Legends
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
- FIFA 17
- Project Cars
- Mortal Kombat XL
- Clash Royale
Taking part in the Mercantile eSports Championship
Any number of teams/individuals are eligible to represent a company as long as they are currently employed. A person is also eligible to take part in multiple games during the championship. The company that scores the most number of victories will be awarded the overall championship.
Last year’s championship portrayed as a historic milestone in eSports. Despite being the first of its kind, corporates showed that they were ready to take on the challenge by being in dedicated attires and in organized formations. The first championship was won by the energetic forces of Virtusa. Millennium IT, 99X Technologies, and CAKE LABS also gave a prominent performance. This year we can expect a bigger battle by experienced veterans as well as new dark horses.

Another gamer, Ashwin Umasudhan – Innodata 2016 Mortal Kombat X Champion shared his views by saying that Taking part in the mercantile e-sports championship gave him a chance to represent the company he works for in something he considers very passionate about. It also gave him a chance to meet and play with people that he had never met before in previous tournaments.”
