It was a Wednesday evening on the 30th of March. As we walked into the Hilton ballroom, we saw that everything was ready for Microimage’s latest event. Titled “Digital Transformation of HR”, this was where Microimage would be unveiling its latest product: Microimage HCM Cloud. The event began with Harsha Purasinghe, CEO of Microimage taking center stage. He started off by mentioning how businesses have taken the initiative to automate their processes to online systems and how we have stepped into the digital era.
With this transformation, it is about time to advance into more timely solutions which are well suited for this generation of workforce. Most importantly this is not just something which should take place in the HR or IT department of an organization. It should be an organization-wide change with clearly driven leadership.
People gathered for the event were all excited to find out what they were about to witness. Everyone’s excitement paid off when Harsha finally unveiled Microimage HCM Cloud. This is Microimage’s answer to organizations wondering how to transition from the traditional model of HR to digital HR. To keep up with ever growing technological transformations
HCM Cloud will accommodate features such as a mobile app, analytics and social collaboration to increase the state of the workforce. These features along with some more exciting features were shared by Harsha as part of a live demo. These are features you’d probably find in any similar system, but what made HCM Cloud special is how it’s great design makes completing tasks with these features simple.
Another interesting feature for companies operating in multiple regions across the world is localization. This means that the system will make small changes depending on the location the user logs in from. Microimage HCM Cloud also overhauls employee profiles. These new profiles contain valuable details about employees for an HR department such as employee history, documents shared and updates on their LinkedIn profile. This makes it easy for top management to identify people which employees are suited for what type of tasks and manage accordingly as everything is up-to-date. There is even a To-Do task list which for example helps management level employees to approve employee leave requests.
It was then time for Suren Rupasinghe, COO of Microimage to demonstrate how easy it is to handle workflows and other related areas with HCM Cloud. This is where the template builder comes into play. With the addition of template builder, it cuts down time drastically to create a survey, get a response and then analyze the feedback received. Additionally, the workflow builder makes organizational policies or processes to be created easily. Together, they help enhance the level of organizational activities.
Chathura Fernando, Solution Architect at Microimage was then invited on stage by Suren to talk about how HCM Cloud handles business rules. He introduced the business rule editor where organizational rules can be defined based on how they perform certain functions in their own accustomed manners. Afterward, Suren returned to the stage to discuss further on how HCM Cloud handles identity. He also spoke about how Microimage has taken steps to make its API available in the marketplace so that HCM Cloud can be integrated with other organizational systems to function together in achieving more efficiency.
Following Suren’s presentation, Harsha returned to the stage to talk about analytics. Analytics play a major role where organizational performance is concerned. With that in mind, Microimage HCM Cloud offers all the traditional reports on all the data an HR department needs. Additionally, the system makes it easier to find specific things in this sea of data an HR department has with its query builder. To make things even better Harsha announced the latest feature called smart search where natural language can be used to find specific things.
This basically means that if you type “people with CIMA qualification over 30 years of age” in smart search, it will generate a list of people who fit that criterion. That is an awesome feature which will make it easier and faster to find out about employee information. This means HR departments will have a much easier time in finding the right people for the right task.
All of these functions which were announced are directly available as mobile apps as well. This will definitely revolutionize digital HRM as all the previously mentioned features being available at the touch of your fingertips will definitely make life easier for people to make on-the-go decisions with the touch of a few buttons.
As its name suggests, Microimage HCM Cloud is a cloud-based solution. This is why Microimage has partnered with Microsoft’s Azure to host the system. Speaking at the launch event was Brian Kealey, Country Manager for Microsoft for Sri Lanka and Maldives who spoke about some of the benefits provided by Microsoft Azure. In particular, Brian highlighted about the security aspect of Azure. He showed us that Microsoft allocates $1bn annually, just to keep Azure secure. No system is 100% secure, but it’s nice to know that Microimage picked a platform that’s focused on security to host Microimage HCM Cloud.
To sum everything up Microimage HCM Cloud is a solution that can help organizations to reach higher standards. It does this by simplifying the HRM process for both employers and employees while helping employees put their skills to good use. When moving towards the digital age having a solution such as Microimage HCM Cloud helps organizations to stay ahead of the game at all times. It is not just a solution with a pretty face but has performance which matches it.
