NBQSA: the National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA), organized by the British Computer Society’s Sri Lankan arm.
OpenArc: one of Sri Lanka’s largest software development companies, specializing in software for financial markets.
SkyLease – one of OpenArc’s biggest software products – is a browser based, database independent piece of software that automates leasing. SkyLease hit the news in a major way after DFCC and the Bank of Ceylon implemented it: it’s being used across 310 branches in the BOC network alone. It’s part of the much larger, modular SkyBank, an all-purpose banking and finance software solution being built by the engineers at OpenArc.
SkyLease was awarded a gold award in the “Financial” category at the competition, a pretty major win for OpenArc. Taking second place was Fortunaglobal (Private) Limited with their message routing software. The full list of award-winners can be seen here.
