Next up on the judges’ list is Zmeter, a mobile app that reads meter usage and collaborates with a server to figure out and record the bill – an effective karate-chop on the piles of paperwork that the usual methods generate. This is one by the team from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura. Peradeniya’s m-Midwife was next, providing data, records and intel to midwifes and roaming healthcare workers via mobile devices.
The next project in line is the Ralapanawa RND, a disaster management system with automated water management that seems geared towards irrigation purposes. The system is directly integrated with mobile and uses CCTV technology to live stream. There’s also a GPS functionality layer built in.
