Following Disrupt Asia, which quite literally is the day following the event, ReadMe (aka Us) together with the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka will be organizing a Tech Journalism Round Table workshop on the 13th of July 2017 from 9.00am to 11.00am at Coco Veranda, Nawala.
This Tech Journalism Round workshop will be headed by Sumit Chakraberty, who is currently the Senior Editor of Tech in Asia.Tech In Asia is a leading technology website in the Asian continent. Think of it as a media, events, and jobs platform that wants to help cater to and develop Asia’s tech and startup community.
At the event, Sumit will discuss a variety of topics such as the best practices of tech journalism. He will also talk about his experiences of being a writer, where he covered and continues to cover topics such as technology, business and sports over his career of nearly 3 decades. Lastly and most importantly, he will talk about why it is important to highlight the technology ecosystem in a country in mainstream media.
The round table workshop will be in the format of a Q&A session so you can feel free to ask any questions you feel relavant to the topic of technology and the technology ecosystem. If you’re a budding writer and/or journalist who has an interest in these areas and you also want to encourage the use of technology to your peers and you wish to make a change in the world, then this is your chance to do so. The ReadMe team too will be throwing a few questions at Sumit to see how he responds to them as well.
