With initiatives such as Startup Weekends and AngelHack organizing regular events, the sheer amount of ideas that we see at these events is certainly a sight to behold. The latest initiative to touch down on Sri Lanka waters is Startup Grind Colombo. Taking place on the 22nd of July 2018 at 4 PM at the Dialog Axiata Auditorium Colombo, OutSmartHub, Blue Lotus 360 and bundlhub will be coming on board as Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors respectively.
Born out of the Silicon Valley in 2010, Startup Grind is one of the largest independent startup communities in the world. They connect and work with more than one million entrepreneurs across 365 cities across the world. Thus, aiding startups in 120 countries. Furthermore, Startup Grind also has strong partnerships with organizations such as Google for Entrepreneurs.
So happens at a Startup Grind? It’s a place where you can expect local founders, innovators, educators, and investors sharing their journey of building the billion-dollar companies. Through regular meetups featuring such individuals, Startup Grind aims to help younger startups within the community. And in Sri Lanka, we have Takas.lk, Epitom Digital and V-ignite coming onboard as Startup Community Sponsors.
So if you want to be a part of the first Startup Grind Colombo, then make sure to be at the Dialog Auditorium on the 22nd of July. And the main speaker who will be sharing his entrepreneurial journey here would be Mano Sekaram – CEO and Co-Founder of 99X Technology Ltd.
A well-known figure in the local IT industry, Mano founded 99X Technology, which is a leading software engineering company. They specialize in developing high-end software for clients across the world with a primary focus on the European region. Furthermore, Mano is also an active supporter of startups and is part of the founding team behind Startup X Foundry. Furthermore, he has also served as the Chairman of SLASSCOM in the past.
Needless to say, Mano has had a long journey in the industry and will have valuable lessons for everyone. However, registrations for Startup Grind have closed at the moment. But fear not.
